Truman, Norfolk, Virginia (7/08-9/09) Boatswain’s Mate Seaman Performed all basic seamanship functions aboard ship that involve line or wire and rigging used to secure the ship a pier, mooring, or anchor; performed sentry duties ashore and afloat Navy Base San Diego Security, Command Navy Region Southwest, San Diego, California (2/06-7-08) Master-At-Arms Seaman Supported the fleet, fighter, and family as extension of Navy’s war fighting system ashore with focus on readiness. Provided Force Protection/Anti-Terrorism, Law Enforcement and Physical Security operations in support of Commander, Navy Region Southwest Performed administrative assistant duties to Navy Harbor Security Unit and Naval Base San Diego Force Protection Department in filing, tracking, and administration of 98 personnel. Performed sentry duties for 12 gates, 12 piers, and 2 watch towers Controlled ingress/egress for pedestrian and vehicle traffic. Performed customer service clerk duties at Navy Base San Diego Pass and Decal; namely, issuing Department of Defense decals; and assisted Naval Base contractors in base access procedures
